The Foam "Coozie" cups make a great line spool holder.

When Speck fishing w/lead heads, take the needle nose pliers and open the gap on the hook just a bit... you'll get a better hook-up ratio.

Keep a bucket of fresh water close when lure fishing. When you change lures, toss'em in the bucket. It'll result in a LOT less rust on your rigs.

One of those "Clip On" lights on the bill of your cap is ESSENTIAL for night fishing.

i forgot to put a tip i was so fired up on honey holes tips

when spooling inshore and inland bait casting reels from a 250 yard (flat) spool, tread the line through the guides of the rod and tie to spool on reel . lay spool of line on floor, place rod tip next to spool and wind away until reel is full. easy, sweet, fast and you dont have to ask your wife to hold the spool with a spindle through it.

it will work with larger (tall) spools but you have to have the spool in a corner or it will tip over.

IKEA tarp bags. You can use them for everything, from toting ice, fish, or whatever else will fit. They're made out of blue tarp material, have two sets of handles shoulder or hand, and the best part is their only 50 cents a piece. My wife brought some home and I use them for everything, even hauled a merc upper unit in one cause it was easier to carry.

    Reel tip

Number all your rods, especially if they are the same. If you have a nick line or a chaff you will remeber the number when back at the dock.

Get one of the mesh shopping bags they use in the mall. It will hold a bunch of fish when emptying the fish box and can you can dip it in the water before cleaning, also easy to clean, small to store and drys fast..

THESE ARE ALL REALLY GREAT TIPS!!!
I always carry a bag with me with rain gear, a change of cloths,a trash bag for dirty or wet cloths, and soap, wash rag, and towel for a clean up at the end of the day. It will make you feel like a new man.

always, and I mean ALWAYS, pack one EXTRA case of BEER. Even if you tell yourself, "theres no way in hell we'll drink all this", you will! Running out of beer when you're 50 miles out is nothing to play around with.

    Cast Net

Soak your cast net in downey fabic softener at least once during and after the season. It softens the mono and will be a good as new.

Get the clips they sell in home depot for holden the blue tarps down. They are great for holding a towel, just zip tie around the boat.
