SHORT BUS TIP#10 Let's talk about wire!

The proper way to wrap wire was taught to me by the mate from the Street Gang while I was fishing on the Fifty-Fifty with him out of Morehead City in the mid 90's. His name was Freddie not sure of his last name but one heckuva a good mate and fishermen. He was a buddy of mine's uncle (Scott Capps).

Several years later I did not know this was a big deal to learn the correct way to wrap wire until it was re-iterated while I was on my very first Run Off Charter with Brian and Marty later called the monster's ball. Awesome time was had by all and it was the road to a new education that opened my eyes and I have never looked back since! Be sure if you are helping wrap wire for a mate on a charter or anyone else on their boat to pay attention to see if they are left handed or right handed so they don't cuss you when they unwind a leader.

So without any more digression. I want to share with you the correct way to wind up a wire leader in a short video I did for ya'll. I like the piano wire myself

I like to keep plenty of wire on hand for the upcoming wahoo bite and pretty much throughout the year JIC. Now that I have showed you how to wind properly, you can now store properly. When using Piano wire I like to keep it dry by adding a bit of corn starch, baby powder etc to the container.

Robja he looks real doesn't he? It is actually a doorstop that I got when my family had 4 beagles when I was younger. My lab pup was in the first few takes but he liked the ilander skirt a bit to much.
