Shipping Prices Gone Wild

Is it just me or has the whole world gone mad tring to make a living on shipping fees. Check out this order I was going to place with Capt Harrys Tackle in Miami.

1 roll waxed string 75# $8.25
Sales Tax: $0.50
Standard Shipping: $8.50
Grand Total: $17.25

Are they out of there frigging mind ?

I guess I will live without. No way am I gonna pay $8.50 shipping for a roll of string.

e-bay is even worse, buy a $3.00 lure and they want $10.00 to ship it.

The high shipping cost is most likely a function of their shopping cart automatically determining the shipping cost. If you call them I am sure they would be able to send cheaper through USPS. I know we would.

UPS will charge around $8 for a small ground shipment in many cases.

that should be about $4.50 with a little added handling charge from the USPS. But just to let you know shipping usps has gone up twice in the last year I think. It is getting high
