    Pitch Bait,

Here's my problem. Lately several tackle shops have gone out of business. So that leaves just mainly 2 in area, and these 2 are not restocking and their inventory is getting low. Also no shop has everything. So now I am forced to buy on line from several different sources. Don't get me wrong I don't run a charter boat and I don't need a ton of tackle but if I have to order a piece here and a piece there, I will end up paying twice what everything is worth.

    Alltackle,

I think in many cases your right about the automatic shipping charges.

You guys have worked with me in the pass to help reduce my shipping cost, and I would like to thank you for that.

    Thanks,

    Capt Rick

Shipping is getting high... Used to be I could sell a set of lures and for $3 have it sent Priority USPS... Now almost double... Makes it prohibitive on $10 stuff... That plus EBAY fees going up had me end that game. Wasn't worth it any more as a seller or even buyer...

One thing I have noticed, when fuel prices where through the roof all my suppliers (wood, concrete etc.) added a fuel service charge. Since fuel have gone down you would think they would drop the sir charge, but nooo, it's just another way to get a few more bucks out of ya and they aren't givin it up.

As far as making a small purchase, if you happen to know one of the bait/tackle owners personally(and I'm guessing you do) you just ask him to attach what your looking to buy along with his next order and he'll probably ask for an extra buck or two for shipping. Thats one way to beat the high shipping costs.

When I send any merchandise out, I have been very pleased with USPS. They have a lot of different methods of shipping to help you keep your cost of shipping down. Heavier stuff obviously gets weighed and then your s.o.l.

noticed that as well. Went to order some 2"x8" ziplock the other day for $2.00 per 100 and they wanted $9.50 for shipping.

I ship almost everyday and used to use UPS then Fed ex and then USPS in that order. But Now I use USPS UPS then FedEx. You guys are right shipping has skyrocketed If I can use USPS that is what I use the take a little longer but normally half the cost. UPS and FedEx have lost their minds.......Mark

Try shipping artwork, most boxes I ship are oversized so I'm looking at at least 70.00- 80.00 each time. Two weeks ago they ran a fork lift through the middle of one of my boxes and of course through the middle of the painting.
Last year I had two originals get stolen two different times from their terminal in Jacksonville Fl.
