You know Marty some similar thoughts went through my head Sat after a GOOSE EGG duck hunt.
My brother was getting a little frustrated, I know there were not a ton of birds around judging by my scouting efforts the two days before, but there were good enough numbers to justify putting the pressure on them Sat a.m.

On the way out we were started to talk to each other, "you know brother, maybe the reason we are having a slow season is that it is someone else's turn to shoot limits, after all we have had some great hunts the past years and one bad year of not getting on them every hunt sucks now, but it does not mean a hill of beans if we get a bad year out of a lifetime of good hunts"
But I like yourself would do it everyday that I am physically able just to be out there in the world!

It ain't gonna happen on the couch or in the rack!!!

You know I wish all the docks were that way. I go out of my way to help everyone that needs something slipside, but there is always someone, or a group (and I'm sure you all can think of some) at the dock that aren't interested in the comrade. They hold the location of the bite tight to the chest. Or they hide the tricks that help them catch. Or worst yet, they tell someone that the Masey's was red hot, yet you know they went south that day. I say Bull$hit, that's down right criminal. I don't have to tell you all how expensive the sport is! If I can provide my dock mates with something, whether it be help on their rigging, or the numbers where we picked up a doulble of whites that day then I will. Why not? I would hope that they would do something for the next person down the line, and when I have an off day, someone is there to give me a pick me up!

The only time that I won't share the bite is tornement time, althought to the owners diamay, I have slipped once in a while. But you need something, equipment, help setting drags ect., I'm all yours, and if I havent offered yet, then just ask!

You know, I have great respect for all branches of the military. They are willing to make a sacrifice, large and small, for the greater good of all Americans. With that said, I have always held a little extra for the Marine Corp and The Coast Guard. There is something about the marines that have impressed me and its not just their flashy recruiting. I had the honer to attend two graduation ceremonies at Paris island, SC. Just watching that ceremony gave me chills. The honer and tradition that is instilled into each man ad woman in the corp is downright impressive.

As for the coast guard, they are trully always prepared. I have had the unfortunate happen on several occasions while 30+ miles offshore, and let me tell you that there isn't a better sight in the world than seeing that 46' patrol boat heading straight for you when the shit is hitting the fan or the red belly a helo preparing to lift you friend off the boat during a medical emergency. The that you know that everything is now going to be ok is a sobering one.

the single one thing I admire most

about any man, woman or child is a positive attitude. Don't care what they look like, smell like, big, little, short or tall. I like em if they have a positive attitude. I didn't write this but I dang sure believe it:

    Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize
the impact of attitude on life.
    Attitude, to me
    is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past,
    than education, than money,
    than circumstances, than successes,
than what other people think or say
    or do.
It is more important than appearance,
    giftedness or skill.
    It will make or break
    a company… a church…a home.
    The remarkable thing is
we have a choice everyday regarding
the attitude we will embrace for that day.
    We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do
is play on the one string we have,
    and that is our
    Attitude.
    I am convinced that
life is 10% what happens to me
and 90% how I react to it.”

    BOX, I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE!

This fall/winter has been a strange one up here too. Deer were late, ducks were late, got a little cold, now it's HOT. Ducks are around but they are on and off...maybe the ducks and slobs are on the same page. I know there are limits coming for us up here and you know there's some for you all too.

    Give em HELL.
