    Shameless plea for work

I currently do not have a charter for Sun or Monday out of OC, MD. I am available for work.

If remotely interested or curious what that would entail, give me a call. Too much to go into detail here.

I have noticed that on this board (and on the private boat docks in any marina) that most of the big fish stories end without a fish. That's a real heartbreaker. Would love to help someone change that into a photographic memory to last a lifetime.

If you have never had tunas boiling in your chunk slick or usually get only single yft bites on the troll or have never caught tunas with jigs, then you need to give me a call. If you bail dolphin and catch less than half the school or want to limit out on bailers but can't get it done, give me a call. If you fished this past weekend between Balt-Wash canyon or inside in the same region from 20-100 fathoms and had only 2-3 bites all day (even though it was a slower 2-3 days) then we need to talk.

I am shamelessly searching for work. It is no secret that the charter business is off this summer. fuel prices are hurting everyone. but that's all the more reason to make the most of every trip. so give it some thought, then give me a call.

Admin--if this shameless solicitation is against the code, my apologies, but business is down & I need to make a living...so I am taking a stab at this.

    Jeff,

I will be out of town/unavailable to work for my dad on Monday, we don't have a trip (as you said, business is off), but if we pick something up I will call you.

Folks, this is a good ooportunity here, don't pass it up.

The next bite on a jig.
If you are out of OC, I would highly recommend this. Small price to pay for someone to come along and help you refine your set-up. Sometimes just looking at things from a different point of view.

This year I have had some folks along that have helped me with my riggers, teasers and a few other things.

I must tell you, I thought I was doing well last year, but I wasn't even in the same league as i am now. Wouldn't have happened without professional help.

I knew he was going, what I did not think to ask was whether he was going to the Professional Mariner Training, Marine Surveying, or both???

    Do you know?

OK, he is doing it the way I did it. Back when I did it you took the professional Mariner Training as a pre-requisite to the surveying (not required, but strongly recommended). That is a good way to go. He will probably be the youngest to go through the surveying course. At the time I went through me and my roommate at 21 and 20 years old respectively, were the youngest to have done it.

I will definitely give him some pointers, I am sure the class has become more computer oriented than when I went through it, and I know SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) has tightened up the beginning surveyor requirements, so I am sure I can help him through my mistakes and early experiences.
