Who ever said that fishermen can't dance were wrong!![]()
Shagging grass is the new dance lately. We took the small boat to Okracoke last Thursday to fish and have some fun. We arrived on Thursday and fished on Friday. As soon as the lines were all out the grass shagging dance begain. I don't think we had two lines in the water the first half of the day.
Troy and CL shagged grass for a solid four hours. (They only thought that the girls were going to be the anglers) The guys shagged so much seaweed I think we could have filled the cockpit up to the covering boards.
Once we got out of the grass we caught two false albacore tunas. We ended up about 20 miles offshore around 4 and started back to the Island, once we got all of the lines in and started heading back the wind blew up on us and and the waves started stacking it took us two hours to get back to the island. It was a very bumpy ride back in.
We decided not to fish for the rest of the weekend. On Saturday I rented a bike with CL's girlfriend and rode all over the island and found the beach were Blackbeard had his last beach party before he died. The place is called Springer's Point, when you walk down the trail to the point you have to walk past a graveyard. I recomend if you ever visit Okracoke to visit Springer's point and spend some time on the path, you will see some strange things. The locals said they have seen ghosts, we did not see any on Saturday, but you could tell there was some thing spooky amiss there. The next time I go I am going to springer's point at dark and I'm going to bring my camera.
