I wrap the thread really tight and when almost done I lay a seperate piece ,tied in a loop , over the thread and make a few more wraps. Then cut the line with a 2-3 inch tag, put it through the loop and pull the loop out so the tag goes in and under the last few wraps. I do the same thing for bucktails.

I cut the floss and tie a double overhand, wrap the ends to the other side and tie another -

Forget the glue, the regular sewing thread, fancy whip finishes, etc.

Use waxed thread and do as Glenn described. The pull through method (like you would use wrapping a fishing rod guide) sounds intriguing. But really all you need are half hitches and a full at the end. Wham, bam, thank ya Mam...done.

Being from the fly fishing world I would think a whip finish would work with a little glue over the knot.

Where are you guys buying the heads or bodies for the sea witches. I have been been looking for the bodies so I can tie my own bit have not been able to find them.

i know geoff takes a smalll squid and puts an egg sinker in them ....or something like that????? been a while since ive seen what of yours??!

I believe the glue is used strictly to stiffin the hair and ruin a well tied witch
My brand new camera is suppose to get here today according to the UPS tracking number, I will charge the battery and try to do a short clip to post on the way I was shown to do a proper tied witch by one of the masters of the art.

Awe shucks Austin, you let the cat out the bag little man...Next thing you know the whole OI, PC,and Hatteras fleet will be draggin squidwitches.
