The switch, however, is based upon population dynamics and the male/female ratio and NOT age/growth/size. The last picture of Matt holding up the hog, that fish is actually in transition from female to male. We call those "Tranny's", the tranny's fight the hardest as well.

Cool deal---learned something new tonight. When I went back and looked at the pictures last night, I noticed that it looked as if the fish you mentioned was going through the transition. He/she/it got released so maybe it'll father us some more in that spot.
