    Seabiscuit Fishing Report---August 31, 2008

    Well where do I start???

Let's just say that it's 1:00pm right now and we have already been fishing, come home, washed the boat, I have washed all of my gear and I'm already writing a fishing report!

Left the ramp at 6:00am with the Biscuit duo---Nick and his son Jason. Found some PRIMO baits really quick and headed offshore to check on the gags. We had some unfinished business from Friday since we didn't even try to catch them then. First stop the scope couldn't look any better. Took a bit to get them fired up but I managed to break the ice with an average 28" fish. Once we got them going, they bit pretty good. Caught about 10 fish here before they got wise. Kept the 4 bigger ones and let the smaller (less than 27") go.

On our way to our second spot, ran across a VERY good looking mark. Stopped, and Nick catches a short gag really quick. Drop anchor and finish out our limit pretty quick. With 5 fish in the box, we baited Jason up with the biggest pinfish in the well. (We were saving it just for him.) Me and Nick kinda laughed and asked if he was ready for this. His response---"I was born ready!" I was about to start rolling video but wasn't quick enough. He got slammed immediately with the biggest fish of the day---a nice 34" gag. For those of you that don't know him, Jason is one heck of a fisherman and put the brakes on every fish that messed with him.

Caught a couple more just for fun and turned them loose then headed for the hill at 10:30am. Coming back through the inlet at 11:30am while most of the holiday crowd was on their way out to Masonboro Island for the day.

Couldn't ask for anything better today! Thank you Nick for another wonderful trip! It was a true pleasure sharing the boat with yourself and Jason today.

At first glance of the thread title, I thought, oh no, Squid forgot his sunscreen. I was relieved that there were some gags on the deck. I see you guys got mad when lil' Biscuit caught the biggest fish...AGAIN!...and brought him home. Congrats to lil' Biscuit on outfishing the old dudes. Great looking sunrise and dinner. Glad you boys got what you were after. Now I am gonna go bang my head against a wall...I cannot take this kind of abuse.

Looks like you boys got done just in time for lunch and a few cold ones It also looks like Jason was just waiting to show you how it's done

I'm with Geoff, but instead of banging my head against a wall I'm just going to use my energy to pack for NC faster

Glad you remembered to take more pics today honey

Thanks for the prompt report...nicely done as always and I wouldn't expect any less from the 3 of you!!

    Dear Squidress,
unfortunately, we were too early for cold ones NC does not serve until 1 PM on Sundays. Oh well.

Fresh NE breeze today had the fish acting like it was fall. Nice, violent bites and a bit of drag ripping at 22lbs. These "go down fish" sure are special and I was grateful they came out to play today.

    Squid and Jason,
pretty work on the gags. I am looking forward to a few more "half day" trips

    Cheers,

You can't ask for better than having the boat and fish cleaned before you can buy beer. Another great day.
