ARe you using crimped hair or straight hair. Crimped tends to tangle up more. If you run through some very dirty water or water that is full of jellies, then you will have a problem with them tangleing. Wash them in clean water and conditoner, they should straighten out.

I prefer to keep my sea witches out of the water. They seem to stay very pretty that way.

Like Capt. Joe said just wash'em in some hair conditioner and they will clean right up and be as soft as new.

also - once you wash and rinse them, hang them upright so the hair can fan out and dry - look at Capt Joe's site - that's what they should look like...

I haven't tried the hair conditioner, thats a good thought. I have always used fabric softener, it works well too. On the larger lures it helps to simply run a comb or brush thru them after being dunked in a bath of the stuff before you hang'm up to dry.

It was the first time that I have ever had trouble, so im thinking it was something in the water. The conditioner straightend them right out.

Stiff bristled brush or even a steel bristled brush will straighten them right out when they are wet. I lay mine out straight until they dry then hang back up on wire. I take mine apart and re tie after 4-4 uses. If you are using to much hair that can cause them to tangle a bit more that usual.
