Schuylkill River Rubber Lip Round up

I have said before that when the water get's raging....the carp head for the creeks and strap on the feed bad. This is without a doubt my favorite time to fish them. I headed down solo last night since the girls were out and I hit it hard....chummed em up with corn, hell i missed a bunch of bites while fighting fish.....even landed a double hook up....which is a first down there fishing like this....they usually get you in the wood if you dont keep the heat on em. I gave a buddy a call and let know it was on in a big way.....by the time he showed up i had landed 5, and had a few i couldnt stop. I wish i would have brought an extra can of corn.....i had to slow down on the chumming so i didnt run out of bait before my buddy got down....so it slowed for a bit.I graciously put him in the zone and moved down a bit....it didnt take long before he was hooked up, most fish went from 10-15 lbs.....at the end he hung a 21 lb fattie....which definitly made his week. Heres the pics...final talley was 8 carp and one hell of a good time.

awesome, i went bow fishing on the river last year and them suckers get HUGE! Found out later that they were grass carp and your not allowed to shoot them. Fun time though, now I just need to do it to the mahi

Funny, i always wanted to try bow fishing for mahi too....i bet it would be a blast.

Nah.....i never kill em...to much fun to catch, i hear people do eat them....but hear they dont eat too well.

I still say corn is by far the best carp bait. Brings back memories sitting down by the river free-lining for them. Hell of a fight. Personal best was 15 lbs. for me.
