Schuylkill River Rubber Lip Round up

Its a pattern that has yet to let me down.....they are there every time, the creek is usually about 3" deep and about 15' wide.....once i get 3 - 4 ' of water in there its on. Once the water starts moving out they follow it back and the action gets slower and slower, heres a pic of tuesday night when i took my daughter down........the tree behind me is the same tree in the second pic. I knew it would be slow for the carp since it was pretty low and on the drop.....the second pic i am about 20 yards up stream and the fish were litterally breaking water every few minutes. As you can see in the first pic the limb above my head....in the second pic its only about 4' from the water line.....that extra 3' of water was the ticket.

Thanks a bunch fellas.....$ 1.04 in bait......drove the whole 3/4 of a mile to the river between the 2 of us we caught about 100 lbs of carp.....it definitly felt nothing short of therapeutic to be in the midst of a wide open bite....its been a while since i had to fight a fish with one rod in the hand and another locked between my knees

yup ..Carp....can test the drag......used to make dough balls and catch some huge carp...20lb+ ...on 4 or 6 lb test...and our old friend a retired DNR guy in Maryland would time us and just laugh.....oh well them fish back then late 1980's and that was off the Patuxent River in Breton Bay up a creek 15 feet wide with 15 feet depth in the middle.....the perfect venue for a jon boat...

Yup carp and catfish have been a passion of mine for as long as i can remember....weather its fishing for these or chasing tuna or drifting for flounder....i just love to fish and enjoy putting patterns together to get on the biggest ones i can....its all about the pattern
