Saturday Report from the Get Floor'D

Well after several days of watching the water move in and out and around and some exploring on friday while on a jigging charter we had. D-Day had arrived it was time for the Get Floor'D, it's april and enough screwing around its time to do some killing. We had some friends from back in winston salem Todd and Garrettcome down to fish with us as well as my cousin david and his son. We left the dock at 0630 and we were met with a light and slight ocean and headed the 64 miles to where i felt the water was the best. 2 hrs later its lines in time in 69.9-71.6 degree break things started off pretty good had a bite about 20 min in long rigger ran for about a 5 count but spit the hooks. it was slow for about another hour or so then we picked up a kingfish.we'll its blood on the boat just not the right kind. Then out of the corner of my eye i see what could be the cause of the crappy bite so far Banana Boat sunscreen,well we had to dispose of that said sunscreen Get Floor'D style.a few rounds with the .45 and its game over for the sunscreen. no animals were harmed in the event the holes in the bottle were big enough for a whale to swim through. while im up front putting the .45 back in my ditch bag the wwwwwfb 50 wide gets ate and starts rolling,we get the crap cleared and its game on the fish tried it all to out smart me that wasn't happening. A few mins later i hear david yell out swivel oh crap game time, just 16 foot of #9 wire to go and you are in the box. leader her up and put the steel to her a stout 54 and some change in the box. high fives all around and imgetting crap back out and a buddy of mine calls me on the radio "LOOK BETWEEN U AND ME,HOLY CRAP" im looking and looking next thing i see is 2 sails free jumping,ok hmmmm so i go to wahoo proofed naked baits on my RS and RF around my squidnation teaser and try and to get a saildog bite...but it was not to be we fished the area hard for about another 3 hrs not a sniff im. so we decide to cover a little ground and try and see if high speed trolling will work....well to awnser that question ya dang on right it works. i timed it 16 min 23 seconds fish on "are you serious at 15 knots wth??" the 80 wide made short work of the 36 lb'er and i put the steel to her. it was later in the day and time to head to the hill. its wasnt a epic day but ill take 2 for 3 on hoos anyday and the day it self was awsome. great day and good friends.
im gonna be on the hill for a few days trying to get a sprained ankle back to 100% (hog hunting injury).thats for another post and mabe a video of some hog hunting adventures tribal style.
