nice report Tank. It sure seems early in the year to be running from thundershowers. but it has been hot. and it is rod breaking season. i broke my Carot stik last weekend. no mystery there though. it got under the ice chest lid and i stepped on the ice chest lid. dont you love it when companies change their warranty. when i bought it last year they said over the counter life time. now it is send us 39 bucks and we will send you another one

Matt sorry you didn't have a better day on the water, but it sounds like you made the most of it. Most importantly you made it back safe.

I had one of my store bought trolling rods break mysteriously it was fine leaving the dock, when we went to set the spread it was broke about 6 inches from the tip. It didn't get hit or dropped that day. The breack looked just like yours. All I can think is at some point it got hit at that spot and made a weak spot.

Build yourself another one and come on down and we'll field test it.
