Box, you are in my old stomping grounds... Head to Fishermans Landing off of Rosecrans st and go eat a SQUID SANDWICH at Point Loma Seafood.... Awesome.

Other things to do:

Get on Cabrillo Memorial drive (Catalina st turns into this road) and go to the Point Loma light house at the end of the Point, you will go through the Naval base there and see the rows and rows of Military graves. Below the light house is the Tidal Pools, if you hit it at low tide, it is like your own personal Sea World.

Go to the Ocean Beach Pier and watch the surfers, or surf if you want to, the water is cold out there so wear a suit.

La Jolla shores is a good place to visit.

Old Town is also a good place to visit.

If she wants to shop, take her to Seaport Village. It has a lot of cool shops and not a bad place to catch spotted bay bass off the rocks in the evening.

Almost forgot to tell you to go to any of the hole in the wall mexican restaurants (my favorite is Adalbertos off Rosecrans st) and get a Carne asada burrito, best burrito you can ever get.

Balboa Park has a bunch of museums, and other artsy fartsy stuff... And then there is the San Diego Wild Animal Park - a bit of a drive, but a pretty cool place - Better than the Zoo

Marty, if you have time visit LaJolla, in my opinion, one of the nicest small town's on the coast in So Cal. Plus, Im' pretty sure the town is noted for producing more PlayBoy Bunny's than anywhere, (pretty sure I read that somewhere, one of those facts that sticks in your head).

Gas Light District downtown, lot of cool places to eat and music......Croce's (as in Jim Croce) is a cool place. Baseball stadium is close by if you want to catch a game.

La Jolla Beach is a great place.

Go tour the USS Midway located across from the Naval base.
