Same Ole 5/7: gaffers, grouper, tuna, triggers

Had intentions of jigging most of the day, but with the warm water we took a few trolling rods as well. Lines in around 8:15 am in some pretty 78 degree water. No bait, saw 3 flyers all day. That didn't bother the mahi though. In 3 hours we caught 9, mostly gaffers, a few slingers. Caught a small blackfin and jumped off 4 or 5 more gaffers, missed a few knockdowns. Pretty steady action and at 11:30 we had plenty of fish to clean and left them biting to explore for new grouper holes. Spent a lot of time looking and not seeing much on the sounder, but did find 3 new spots and got grouper bites at all of them. Pulled hooks on several fish, broke a couple off, and only landed a 15 lb red and a gag all on jigs. No AJ's...we were happy with that. Caught a toro snapper and some nice triggers. I still feel like a lose more grouper on jigs than I land. Headed home around 2:30 pm at 38 mph on a beautiful ocean. Not the best pics...we were busy.
