Sailure question
With gaffer mahi season upon us, anyone know where I can get my hands on the colored head sailures? I have even seen some with the flash. I have one in mind that always seems to be a killer for big mahi on the short rod by the boat.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to try EJW or Joe Shutes.

Lee, John, Bert:
I JUST found 'em with a few phone calls. Thank you guys for pointing me in the right direction and with the offers to look out for some. I appreciate it. Now if the wind will lay down for a small boat.

THE SAILURE.........ONE OF THE MOST WIDELY PURCHASED LURES OUT THERE.....AND ....AT THE SAME TIME, IMO,...A LURE THAT IS DESIGNED TO USE IN 3 POSITIONS
1.....SHORT RIGGER...IN TIGHT...ALLOWING THE HEAD TO MAKE THE ROOSTER TAIL POP IT IS DESIGNED TO DO...NATURALLY A MED HOO IS IMPLANTED WITHIN THE CONFINES
2.....NEXT, ON THE BACK END OF ANY STYLE DAISEY CHAIN TEASER LOCATED OFF THE RIGGERS AND BRIDLED WITH LARGE/AND OR /HORSE BALLYHOO....BE READY WITH A PITCHBAIT
3.....FLAT LINE.......FISH IT OFF THE RODTIP USING NO RELEASE CLIP...MAINLINE / LEADER OUT OF THE WATER...IN TIGHT....AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO SWIM IT IN THE BACKSIDE OF THE PROP WASH
OOPS....MY BAD BRYAN....YOU WERE ASKING WHERE YOU COULD FIND ONE OF THESE CRITTERS....NOT HOW TO FISH ONE
MY BAD............

# 2 and #3 option please! ( a clip does not seem to let it "pop" like it is suppose to) Work great with proven results for this dingbatter. If I had riggers I would try the short. Will have to wait on the next boat during upfit for those.
No problem here Boxman
. You are not stepping on my toes whatsover. New Bern fella had the ones I was looking for.
I bet you a black head/black hair version would be the cat's a$$ for a sailfish in the fall on the short rigger near a teaser. Maybe even on wire JIC the striped devil is around.

I'm going to go out on limb here and suggest C&H Aliens, instead of saillures. They have ones with hair, but a dolphin doesn't seem to mind the rubber skirts. They have a similiar action and at $8 each (instead of $18), I don't mind if dolphins chew on them all day. I have some that are three years old and still look good enough.
I really like them in short riggers.
