Sad event at sea today and stream fishing report 6/24
First off, as we came back in to Wrightsville we noticed Pole Position parked at the WB Coast Guard station. I called my buddy tonight and he said he heard on the radio a man had died from a heart attack on the boat. Apparently the coast guard had sent a chopper out for him but they were too late. This is all I've heard so I don't know much more in the way of details.
Secondly, not much blood on the boat for us today. Only one wahoo and a fat albert. Also caught two cudas and had several strikes. Beautiful day out there though. We just didn't have the luck on our side. A few around us including Pole Position appeared to be doing quite well but most people, from the talk on the radio, had a pretty slow day.

I heard the same thing but couold not get any more info that what you posted. We were next to them when I saw a mad scramble in the pit and they took off. At first I thought that they had hooked a bill fish the way they were pulling lined in but I could not raise them on the raido as they left. My prayers goes out to the family. The mans name sounded like I know him but I don't want to say till I'm 100% sure.
Thats the way I want to go, out in the stream getting it! My heart goes out to the family for their loss. I remember a few years ago a fellow had a heart attack on a BFT tag boat while fighting a fish. What a way to go. I am not trying to make light of this, but look at the good side, if anyone of us had a choice could we choose a better place to leave from. Prayers sent up.
