Runnin the Dog with Bill Dance

I thought you old dogs would like this

I got a call the other day from John at Momoi fishing leader manufacturer. He asked me if I would take Bill Dance fishing so they could film a TV show. I said sure, what kind of fishing would they like to do. John said well you are supposed to be the guide, what would you suggest. I explained to him how great the tarpon fishing had been and he said perfect.

I was really stoked, two days later I got the call from Bill Dance. Bill was really nice and sounded like it was going to be a blast to fish with him. Bill said we would film on Sat and Sunday and they would only be able to film from 9AM till about 7 PM I said great lets see what we can get into. I started to think about where and when I was going to be able to fish my spots. Usually I pick my clients up about 4 PM and we fish until about an hour after the sun goes down. I started thinking that this was going to be a major challenge between catching a tarpon in broad daylight and getting away from the boat traffic of the weekend.

Well I pick Bill up and I start to go over a strategy with him as he explains how the camera men and chase boat would work with us. We would have one camera man on board with us. Then the chase boat would consist of their captain (Timmy) another camera man Bill Jr. and at times a professional photographer (Lamont Jones).

We fished real hard and ended up having some real successful days that should make a great show .

I had a great time fishing with these guys, they were true professionals who know how to have a lot of fun. Look for the new Bill Dance Outdoors salt water series. Especially when Bill is “Running The Dog” with Captain Jeff in Fort Lauderdale.
