Hey fellas, hope everyone has been doing alright. What I am looking for is one of those rod holders that bolts onto the back of a truck tool box. I made my own out of 2x4's and pvc pipe but running 80 mph down hwy 70 tends to toss it around a little bit even tied down. I passed a guy this weekend with 8 rod holders mounted to the back of his toolbox but it looked like a welded rocket launcher. If anyone has any advice on how to make one of these or where to purchase i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Jay
Thanks o sea d, just got off the phone with them only problem is they get $439 for 'em. Didnt want to spend that much if i dont have to let me know if you know of anything else.
sometimes i sit and think, and sometimes i just sit

i think you can get a decent one from boaters world made of stainleess for about 100 bucks. ive been looking at them myself- ill see if i can find a link
I have one on the back of my tool box but it only holds 6 rods. It is from cabelas and was only about 75$ or so. The key is to have a board inside the box that you mount it to to the weight put on the rack is evenly distributed through out the entire box and not jsut where you bolted it on to. Hope this helps.
here are some pictures the board stretches across the entire back of the box. Its pretty simple. The boart is not a plain rectangle though, I had to take out a small section from the top so it can close right. Other than that, it takes a liitle bit of drilling and screwing in and thats it. Hope it helps
