I took a 2x10 and bolted both sides and the middle to my Truck box. I used 5200 around the holes to keep the box water tight. I then measured 2 inch diameter PVC pipe and cut it into 11 inch pieces. I then drilled holes 3 inches away from each end of the PVC. On the side that faces toward the tailgate I widened the hole so I could get a screw through it. I then simply screwed the PVC into the wooden 2x10. I have 10 PVC Rod holders across the back of my truck box. I used good screw and have had this design for 9 years. No problems yet. To keep the bigger reels (50W) from rotating during travel I put a bolt in the bottom of the PVC so the gimbal can be utilized. Simple to make and doesn't cost near as much as others.
Give Hammerhead Metalworks Inc. a call Aaron @ 252-945-9749 he does great work affordable to. His site is www.hammerheadmetalworks.com I had him build a fiberglass center console hard top with 14 rod holders on it and a fold down tower for$3250.00. Deluxe leaning post was $950.00 with four rod holders. Truck rack with 12 holders $486.00 all installed complete package. Highly recommend him. I've talked to him aboout sponsoring here on this site but he is skeptical about it being worth while if we could show him the clients he could get, I know he would jump at it then. He had some sites he sponsored but they didn't pay off he said.

He sponsored on some other sites and said they were duds. After a year he didn't sale enough to get his investment back. Let's see if we can show him what we can do for him here @ this site.
My mate Stephen Shores is also a marine welder/fabricator. In the last week he has done a fold down tower.ladder rack and several rod racks. He's very affordable and has his own shop here on the Outer Banks, just north of the Wright Memorial Bridge. He does excellent work and can custom make anything you want out of aluminum!! His number is 252-207-4190
