Rock Fishing with Drone Spoons,
Hey guy's I've never tried it myself but it's been mentioned a couple of times here. Is this something that is used when the water is hot or in the winter aswell. How do you guy's rig, planers, cannon balls, behind a MoJo? What speed? Color's? I sure am curious, thanks. Frank, SeaPower

behind a mojo. long leader. GOOD BALL-BEARING SWIVEL

Hey seapower, I replied to your PM, but thought I'd post here too.
In tandem with a Mojo: I'll put 20-25' of 80 lb leader tied directly to the spoon. A good ball bearing swivel at the three-way. One thing that's helped with "twist" is to pull the leader material off a LARGE spool (not the 1/4 lb. spools of mono). If you'd like, you can put an inline swivel between the mojo and the spoon. I use 80 lb leader just because it's easier to handle boatside, and Rockfish are NOT leader shy.
In Line weight: I typically don't run this (just makes more sense to run them in tandem w/another bait)
Off a planer: Usually a #3 or #4 with the same leader set up as the mojo.
I like the 9 1/2 Drones, and still have some of the "Pearl" color that Lev gave me. Plain old white works well, as does Chartreusse w/green flash tape. Pretty much everything I pull for Rockfish is white or chartreusse... or a combo of the two.
I usually troll for Rockfish at around 3 kts.

Preffered trolling speed?

Mojo's are HEAVY trolling baits. Lead head with a swing hook (usually rigged w/9" or 12" shad) and weigh anywhere between 16 and 48 oz.
