The other day someone ask me what the best part of fishing on the Roanoke River was...I think these pictures says it all...

Any one can catch fish here...

    Last night...

Had fun watching this group this morning. Charlie on the rod...

Little one is Charlie and older one is Phoenix...

    with Phoenix...

    the kiss goodby....

Outdoor writer, Dick Jones with Phoenix...happy?...ya think...

    Who's happer...

Gotta love it...all about the kids...

Water level rose about 8" over night and is rising as of now. should level out with another 8" on top of where it is now, we see where it tops out and what it does to the bite over the next couple of days. Back on the river this afternoon, I'll let you know.

    100+ BY YOURSELF!!!

    That's downright insane!!

It's great seeing the kids on the water. Nothing finer!

Pretty work buddy, keep it up and keep up the reports.

Today I had John McAlister (Age 83) and Brian Deiters (61) on the boat . These 2 guys have been fishing with me almost as long as I have been guiding and put 2 very long days on the river back to back. Today they wound up with a little over 50 fish... Always a pleasure to have them on board.

    Brian...

    John...

It seems you have a very healthy Striper population, what about the other fish on the river? Does the seemingly over abundance of stripers hurt the other fish populations

Well the grind is coming to an end for me as tomorrow is my last day up here. Another cark of dawn start John, Brian and myself of 5:30 am and the fish wanted to chew for us. Wound up with a little over 50 on fly and off the water at 10:00 am. We'll be back on the river by 3:00 pm for the evening bite, should be very good...

Hotshot, I think for a couple of months the resident population hides somewhat, kinda like I do when 2 to 300,000 comes to my town for the weekend...
You still can catch Largemouth, Cats, Bream and White Perch while all this is going on...
