Rise/SWB Hole report 4/28

What a beautiful day to be on the water!!! With the Wife finishing a 8 mth. internship we are on vacation this week so the little rig was locked and loaded for action this morning. Stopped to fuel up this morning and chatted with Zack/ Brake Marine about where to head. We headed south they went up the beach. Pulled back at the Rise, 70.5-71.2 deg and climbing towards the SWB Hole. A few eddys and blended water, no good rips, pretty flat.

Planer is the first producer of the day, snake King, we went a long while with out a nibble. Worked the 30 to 50ftm. break SW of the Hole then headed inshore. Deployed the squid tease and spreader bar in hopes of drawing something to the spread, it worked in 20ftms. Both short riggers get piled on, I box a nice gaffer while Lisa cranks on a better fish. After putting the heat on it I gaff her best Mahi to date, solid 20lb. fish. Stayed in the area with the WWB getting mangled up by a peanut then it went dead. Time to bounce bottom, tried some Red #'s near the Papoose, few Pinkies and sharks, no groupers. No current at all, ended back up at 210 Rock with Zack and killed some more time before heading in, flat ride in and we worked on our tans pretty good. Saw the most sea turtles I have ever seen today, 15 or so. Next couple days there is another hard temp break coming up from the south, they should chew good tomorrow and Thur. Good deal .... glad yo uhad a good day on the water! Wish I convince my bride to join me out there. She got sick one Big Rock Tourney (10-12's) and that was the end of her off shore participation.
