I have tried tying this knot 15+ times thus far using 50lb spiderwire invisi-braid and 25lb Yozuri Hybrid and so far it has slipped every time.
Around the 10th time I increased the number of twists and still slips. I'll keep trying this knot out, but I wonder if its the spiderwire that just won't catch on the mono.

One thing you have to do is keep your wraps relatively tight on the mono as you're wrapping it. Next is to increase your number of wraps to approximately 15 times with each line. The lighter the braid/mono, the more you have to wrap it. The spiderwire should have no trouble biting to the mono.

when this line "bites" into the mono doesn't it reduce its breaking point at that spot?

Not at all. The times I've pulled on it until the line broke, the mainline broke above the knot. Not at the knot itself

I was having the same problem using Jerry Brown. Jerry Brown braid is smoother than other braid so I thought that was the problem. Each time it was slipping as I pulled it tight. Then I figured out that if you wrap each one tight, keeping it held tight between your thumb and index finger, it stays tight and bites down around the mono when pulled.

I think I'm confident enough in this knot now that I'm going to loose the spro. I never liked the idea of metal going through my rollers. If you've ever lost a big fish because of a tiny, barely visible nick in your roller or eye, you know what I'm talking about.

Well I'm impressed. I thought the knot wouldn't work on the small stuff. A buddy of mine had it tied on his jigging setup and I thought if IF IF it worked it would be awesome on my inshore setups. I've tied it 10x on 10# power pro to 15# fluoro, my usual skinny water redfish setup and it has held every time. The power pro broke all 10 times. Impressive and should cast a lot better than the usual uni to uni. Now I just need to test it out. We'll see...

I too was able to get the knot to take hold finally and it has held up nicely. I will be using this knot on all my lines from now on. Thanks for sharing the information and the video as well Squid. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys! Glad you got it to work and are liking it! I've got it on all of my lines myself and have been VERY impressed with it so far.
