interesting post marty. But is the NMFS really at fault for your decision to go to all plastic or is it maybe just maybe that lures are more effective in this tournament scenario. Maybe the guys who drag bait all over the world know that a decent lure dragged at a proper speed will have a much better chance of raising miss piggy then what you used in the old days. And if they don't then why stop using bait with circle hooks. Hell you still caught wahoos before you invented the planer rig right?

Its pretty funny watching kids like my nephew (the kid who hasn't put his time in long enough to have an opinion) and my son who has never feed a j hook to a billfish (except one blue marlin) or my buddy alex (aslyum) who have no idea what the big issue is because they have grown up only using circle hooks and all have gotten pretty damn good at hooking billfish with circle hooks, Even blue marlin.
