    Rich's Inlet Ship Wreck......

    The Wreck is visible at low tide - heading is east to west in the middle of the inlet.........

    Took this picture today at low tide facing north in 12 feet of water........
    Bow?.......... 34.17.658 / 77.42.603
    Mid Ship?.... 34.17.668 / 77.42.606
    Stern?......... 34.17.674 /77.42.613

    Please check it out at low tide to double check these GPS #'s.......ICM

    a little background behind this piece of local history.....

    this wreck is what is left of the "Wild Dayrell", a Confederate blockade runner that ran aground in february of 1864 in what was then known as Stump Inlet, now commonly known as Rich Inlet. the "wreck"is actually what is left of the boiler.
