Suggestion
Do your food and yourself a favor and buy the lump hardwood charcoal. Once I tried it, I won't use anything else. You use half as much, there are hardly any ashes left over, and the flavor is unreal.
I buy mine at Lowe's hardware.
I know it can be risky to question a man's grill technique, but this tip is worth the risk.

I will get it for tomorrow for my shrimp kabobs!! plenty more to go!! got all season long! yee haw!!
Just asked my brother next to me about it and he uses it for his BBQ contests he does! says it is rediculous and burns great also!
Will be getting some tonight for tomorrow!
Who knows might throw some hickory in there for a little smokey dokey!

He is a wise man...
I have cooked a whole pig on several occasions with hardwood charcoal. It's a lot of work but worth it.
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
