Remarkable Grouper Tripping.........

Realized there must have been something in the air yesterday.........
Launch at 8 - the truck dies at the ramp.........rejection
Hooked up to tow the truck / boat trailer & the truck starts.........rejoiced
Under way by 9, on the way The Capt. remembered he left the anchor ball in his driveway, oh well.......
The Sonar starts acting up & can't read the bottom, oh heck.......
A friend starts feeling green & toughs it out, oh damn.........
Can't get a good drift & start losing rigs, oh crap........
We refuse to relent...........
Get to his other secret spot.......felling relief
See a commecial Grouper boat there...........felt relaxed
Figure it's going to be good.......feeling rejuvenated
Until we star catching Sharks, spend the next 15 minutes untangling lines - not good...........felt remorse

Move to another spot & spot a Turtle - good sign..........really
Pull in the first Gag & it's short - bad sign........released
It's followed to the boat by a school of Peanut Dolphins - good feeling.......repeated
We don't have anything ready to throw at them - bad feeling.........regrets

Allow me to reiterate, hold your remarks & please remember, never relax, rejoice or repeat my mistakes when fishing........
But I regress & would be remiss if I did not post a relevent report

Did manage 1 Red Grouper, a few Pinkys, some BSB, a couple of Grunts & 2 undersized Gags........

Really not bad for a day that started out remarkably badly..........ICM

I hear you, but it was a nice day on the water... We were locked and loaded - We headed off to the 400s Set our lines out and along comes the black boat, followed shortly by a yellow boat and another charter... Figure we are in the right area.

But for us it was sloooowww - a king and a mahi - none of the elusive wahoo...

But a very nice day on the water...

Without frustration it's hard to experience accomplishment...anyone who tells you they've never had a day like that can't truly enjoy the good days.

I really enjoy fishing with friends & getting invited on their boats......besides the possiability of learning new technics & the laughs are plentiful.......
But just wish they would get them dialed in before we leave the dock........
Otherwise we will have to take my Cat & turn my frustration into accomplishment..............ICM
