Regulator 24 vs Contender 23T
I am looking to buy another boat this spring. Does anyone own or fish on either of these boats that would like to share the good and the bad? I know both are good boats but each has its Pros and Cons.
Thanks For Any Help,
Mike

MIKE FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH I'VE NEVER FISHED ON A 24 REG BUT FISHED ON SOME 23 & 25 CONTENDERS. 25 HAD TWIN 225 OPTIMAXS FAST BUT BOY YOU SURE NEEDED GOOD CURTAINS AND ONE OF THOSE ORTHAPEDIC FOOT PADS AS FOR THE 23 IT HAD A SINGLE 250 HPDI ON IT RODE WORSE THAN THE 25 NEEDED ALOT OF TAB MOST ALL THE TIME VERY LIGHT BANGED ALOT. THE 27 AND 31 ARE A WHOLE DIFFERENT WORLD THOUGH GOOD RIDE THE 31 ALOT DRIER THAN THE 27. I'D GO SEE DAVID FLOYD AT ATLANTIC MARINE AND TEST DRIVE THE 24. SEEMS TO BE A REAL NICE RIG WITH 150'S ON IT.

Regulator 24 is the way to go.....I have nothing against Contenders, in fact i think they are great boats, but you cannot beat the ride of a regulator in my opinion.

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
Although the 24 isnt my favorite, I would deffinitly go with the Regulator.

Both good boats Mike.
The 23t is much bigger than the 23 contender. Plenty of room, good fishability, speed and economy with twin 150 4s.
The 24 regulator is heavier and has more bow, thus drier. Cockpit space is very limited on this 24. I like the 23 regulator better.
The small twin outboard will always be a compromise. If you can afford these boats, you cannot afford not to look at the 26 regulator or the 31 contender.
Good luck,

i have fished on both the 24 Reg and 23(not T)Contender. while the 24 regulator is a very nice boat, it is a half assed compromise between the 23 and 26 regulator. like Biscuit said, the cockpit space on the 24 leaves a lot to be desired.
if it was me, it would be a 23T Contender with twin 150 4 stroke power.

Crab mustard is good
Check out a Judge 24'. Also, I visted with the guys from Riverside Marina at the AC show and they had the North Coast boats there. Not as glamorous as the Regulators and Conteneders but boy are they well built and a great value.
I talked to one or the other (reg or cont) at AC and the rig was $84000 for a 24'. That's alot!

Id say contender. I have no experience with either of thse boats. But from what I have heard the 24 is a dog. The 23T one of my favorite Contenders.
