Red XXX's

Why is it that in some threads the pictures don't show, and there's a red x in the upper left corner of whatever image is there? I'm a computer dummy, but maybe someone can help?

FOR STARTERS ARE YOU ON DIAL UP BY CHANCE?

SOMETIMES I THINK WHEN A PICTURE IS POSTED IT IS ON THE ORIGINATORS END THAT CREATES THE RED X

What I'm talking about: I looked at your latest Clueless thread and you apparently have a picture of some line/leader, and a picture of a hook. Where the picture should be, I see a little box with a red "x" in it...

I have been having the exact same problem. Have communicated with Jer about it and he is stumped also.

I cannot access the photo or video galleries. Any photos or videos posted there that are linked to thread show me a red X. Only the photos that are uploaded directly to the post are visible.

I also cannot log off because I get web page cannot be found when I try to do that. The sportfisherman logo in the upper left corner also shows a red x.

I have no answers and I am a computer geek.

Googled it,; downloaded it; added sfc to trusted sites--same result...oh, well.

I have MS Vista, 64-bit Internet Explorer. Get automatic Windows updates.

If Jer and La Gringa can't figure it out--no way I can.

Maybe I can get my friend's 5th-grader to come over and resolve it.

Meanwhile I'll just enjoy the pictures that automatically display...
