Red XXX's

BOX you're right it's got to be JAVA
I get the red X's at work on almost every thread, but none at home

They won't let us update or download shit at work, so I assume that is the problem

Guys let us know if updating that works please

ok this is going to take awhile.....the first part is to reduce, save & label image in your Document folder... the second part is posting image for all of us to enjoy...

Locate pict. from your Document folder... RIGHT click mouse scroll menu to Edit... a new screen appears look at heading above pict. LEFT click IMAGE scroll down to STRETCH/SKEW a new screen appears.. HORIZONIAL box should read 100%.. HILIGHT & reduce to 65 or 50%.. Hit TAB key HILIGHT sould now be in VERTICAL Box once again reducue to 65 or 50%...Hit ENTER key or OK on this screen...a NEW screen appears with the REDUCED pict.... Now under FILE scroll down to SAVE AS... LEFT click .. a NEW screen should appear FILE name.. type in words only without spaces or numbers & Save (this is important set that can really drive you crazy if done wrong)
Example BigFish ( done right & will work)

Bad example "Big Fish" - quoates & space ( done wrong & won't work )

Now your REDUCED PICTURE should appear as the last image in Document folder

Part 2 - Posting Pictures.

LEFT click on "Paper Clip"( top row, right of smiley face) ... NEW window will appear with the words IMAGE & BROWSE separated by a blank field.. LEFT click Browse & your Document Folder holding pict should appear... scroll down to pict you reduced earlier.. place POINTER on pict. it's info should appear note SIZE it has to be smaller then 75KB to be posted ( if not, go back to HORZ & VERT and reduce % again, save & title )... DOUBLE LEFT click on Reduced pict. from your Document Folder.. another popup window will appear LEFT click OK...Wait for SELECTED pict to be down loaded for all the world to enjoy..

I SWITCHED TO FIREFOX AND I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH ANYTHING THUS FAR

AND DOWNLOAD TO SEE IF YOU ARE UPDATED

The software that I develop is web-based and spec'd for Windows Explorer. Mozilla infiltrates that so I am stuck with IE. <sigh>

and if a five year old figures this out... i'm changing careers...!!!!

I finally resolved it on my computer...!!!

I'm a genius--resolved it, but did not know it. After my last post, around 2:30 today, I saw a Java icon flashing in my toolbar, scrolled over it and saw that a Java update was available; downloaded the update, clicked Restart, left the room, and just got back. Lo and behold, opened sfc site and saw the ABSENCE of red x's everywhere! Went to Box's Clueless thread and saw: pictures pictures pictures. No more red x for me.

Thanks for all the help suggestions--sometimes it's just blindass dumb luck that gets the job done...on my way now to buy xome Powerball tickets--who knows, lightning does sometimes strike twice in the same place, same day.
