I live down there and for all of you that know me, I have a high maintenance city woman who happens to be a cookbook writer, so she thinks. BUT I do love her. She makes the following recommendations:
Mexican: El Zarape (try the chicken quesadillas, $4 for 36oz. beer (that's from me)
Finer dining: Chef 105, Island Grill (excellent wine list) and Amos Mosquitos (sit in the bar area) and Bistro by the Sea
Casual dining: Raps, Outback, Clawsons, Key West (ugly place, alcoholic owner, but DANG good food)
Lunch: NY Deli (atlantic beach causway)
Breakfast: 7-11
