Re-Tieing Ilanders

I actually like the ones that i have tied better then the store boughts, just wish i could find only the heads.

I know that Bruce Pollock had a source in Greensboro that he used to advertise when he was running Wave Runner - I can't remember who that was or how to contact them - Maybe O-SEA-D or Rick has an idea??????

Green Top in Richmond Va. has a decent supply of heads and hair. They also have several types of flash that is used for tying flies. I have bought the flashabeu and a couple of other things to tie into my witches. One thing I have been thinking about is tying in two narrow feathers on each side of a blue and white to simulate wings on a flying fish.

What is the easiest way of removing the coller from the head. I used a hacksaw and a vice grib which ended up damaging the lead a little but I was able to bend it back. Thought about trying my dremel tool but after a few beers decided that the hair might pose a challenge.

LMAO---- been there done that--- it's not the old hair that's so bad, the damn cut off tool hurts like hell when you slip and get the fat of your thumb.
