Do any of You Guy's remember Tommy Bolin?
The first track is from when He was with the James Gang (Joe Walsh hired Him to play lead), The second (YouTube) two are from His last album Private Eyes. This cat could play the Geetar!
Oh man, I just found this. This OLD rocker can't wait to start listening to the stuff you guys have posted here. I know I'm gonna freak!
AC/DC??? Go Angus, GO!
Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels? Their drummer in their first days, Russ Johnson, used to work for me!
Oh, Lordy..."When I get offa this mountain,
ya know where I'm gonna go...oh yes!
Marshall Tucker too,
Floyd? Mama will they break my balls?
So much, so good, I can't wait to dig into this pile you guys have left. Only thing is, I hope that my favorite rock and roll band from back when they first started, them Rolling Stones are in there somewhere.
Ronnie Woods is a fisherman and reads my books - no shit!
And here we are tuna fishing off of Caly with his wife, son Ty, the main Rasta backup guy. That's the Brown Sugar singer lady's little girl and the guy in the upper left is that great horn player who is the head of the brass section. That's me and Ronnie puffing away back there. The whole band, except for Mick was with us that day and dream come friggin' true, I got invited back to meet Mick and partaid with the whole group all night long. They gave me what turned out to be front row seats at the concert they were here to do and asked me what song I wanted them to play for "The big, ugly, hairy barbarian". I told them "Some Girls" "French girls they want to parlay, Italian girls want cars...American girls want everything that you can possibly think of...and that other great stuff. It was the second song that they did after their opening number and they pointed me out and Ronnie said, "This one's for that big, ugly, American barbarian over there, our friend, Fast Freddy Archer...and off they went.
You could have killed me right then and there and it wouldn't have mattered. And you know what? Those guys are super regular Joes who reminded me of my best friends back when I was growing up.
(Hint, hint...they were no strangers to Cabo. Keith got married down there and there were some real skinny, boney guys with fake looking beards that used to fish with me down there once in a while too. Sammy Hagar, who ran Gata Gordo which was parked right behind me, found them out one time, but kept his mouth shut. And oh yeah, Sammy is a hardcore fisherman and a half!)
Rock on, Stones...Rock on!
