Bill, i had a 5 year or so period that I did not go. What started me up again was going to see ICP every time they toured. and I owe that to Robby Paquette agreeing to go with me (there were others, but when Robby said he was in, I was way up for it).

Funny thing happened on the way into the second ICP show I ever went to (I guess actually did not go to). All of a sudden found myself in the back of a Paddy Wagon on my way to being a guest of the city of Philadelphia. Don't recall what precinct. I did pee through the bars of my cell and finally go to sleep (pass out). When they let me out, they made me mop the floor, and not just my pee, the whole hallway. I did not have a cell phone, and I could not get my calling card to work, so I hitched a ride home with a guy, who turned out to be a crack head!! When he started smoking crack in the car I had him drop me off several blocks away from my mom's house... didn't want him to know where I lived.

Anyhow, glad that I started going to shows again. Never too old to Rock and Roll... no matter what that Jethro Tull song says.

This is really gonna make me feel old. I was in high school in the 60's, and then went to UT in Austin end of the 60's, beginning of the 70's. We would drive to concerts in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Crazy times and my friends were a mix of hippie, redneck, and surfer. So we crossed some musical lines in what we listened to.
Many of these I saw at the old Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston and the Cullen Auditorium, and three places we loved to hang out back in the day, the Catacombs Club, Love Street Light Circus, and the Living Eye in Houston.

Some of the C&W at Gilley's in Pasadena and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo , but a lot in Dallas, SA and Austin (Vulcan Gas Company, Armadillo World Headquarters, Threadgill's) , too. Saw Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffett, J. Geils and Lyle Lovett in Massachusetts. Met Steven Tyler and Joe Perry at the M&M Sporting Goods store in Plymouth, Mass, while we were all christmas shopping....Tyler was cool. Perry was a jerk.

Here are some of the concerts and live performers I remember seeing,

Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys
    Jimmy Reed
    Lightning Hopkins
    J.J. Cale
    Donovan Leitch

ZZ Top many times ( from when Billy Gibbons was playing in Spring Branch as The Moving Sidewalk)
    Grand Funk Railroad
    Willie Nelson
    Waylon Jennings
    Tompall Glaser
    Johnny Cash
    The Who
    Jimi Hendrix
    Buddy Miles
    The Beach Boys
    Gladys Knight and the Pips
    Peter Tosh
    Jethro Tull
    Bob Marley and the Wailers
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention
    Desmond Decker and the Aces

    Bruce Springsteen
    Ray Charles
    Taj Mahal
    Leon Redbone

I am gonna stop there. It's making me sad, cause music today just aint the same.
I know there were more, but I would have to dig into my memory for them. And I am sure I won't remember all of them.

What did you do in the music business? I would venture to guess you are one the few to have seen Rick Springfield 60 times. You must have been on his christmas card list

I was a tour manager, I have to say Rick Springfield was one of the best tours to do we only worked 4 days a week while he was on the soap and imagine what all the soccer moms do while their daughters were at the show. Its a family site so I will leave it at that.

Yeah they do. I keep thinking of more, too. Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, Bob Seager, Pete Seegar...Arlo Guthrie, Clapton in three different bands...Delany and Bonnie, Leon Russell, Maria Muldaur, Carly Simon, Carole King......James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Kenny Rodgers and First Edition, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr., ....

I am having a hard time naming anyone newer than twenty years ago, though...
Kenny Wayne Shepard? I think he might have been the last live performer I went to see on Cape Cod.

There are a lot of bands come through here, last month my son was here and he went to a birthday party to hear Marka Diamond and OneRepublic but I don't recognize them. My son does, and he thinks I am so out of it musically...

I left out Charlie Daniels..Doug Kershaw...
