Well after a brutal bout with an incredible disease my father in law lost the fight last night. He fought to the bitter end like a true champion. I learned so much from Donnie and have so much respect for this man that words can't put it into prespective. I will miss him to the n'th degree. I know a lot of you out there know him and if you wish to pay respects the funeral will be Friday at 1300 at Mariners Bethel church in Ocean View DE.
So sorry for you and your family's loss Neil. It may not seem this way but I am sure your father-in-law is in a better and more comfortable place now. Not sure what else to say but I wish you and your family well.
very sorry to hear this news neil...... i too had alot of respect for that man. it was a pleasure to have him help me run my boat a few years back when i wasnt able to fish everyday. on a saturday , 1 day after the WMO he took a group of people of mine out to the baltimore canyon where they hooked a 900 lb plus blue marlin, fought it for 7 hrs had the leader in hand several times but the mate couldnt move the fish. then an argument ensued as my mate at the time wanted to kill the fish for a delaware record, but Capt Donnie said no way so they turned up the heat and the fish broke off. if i was runnin the boat that day that fish might have had a flyer in his shoulder but Capt donnie taught me something that day too. i will never forget him !! R I P CAPT DONNIE..... and neil give miss terry and ashley my condolences as i am down here in costa rica and cant make it home for the service.
