Tetepare,
G'day, mate! Ah, beautiful Sidney! Spent many's a day there at my mate John Dunphy's house. What a gorgeous city it is!
If and when you get around tunas, be sure to try the downrigger/chunking thing being discussed here. It is a truly terrific way of getting deep fish up top when they aren't up there and vulnerable to surface lure fishing. Works on wahoo and just about any other species too, but it can be magic on those tunas, including that early run of bigeyes, if you still have it happen there.
I meant to give kudos to Buff for mentioning that "upchuck" thing that hooked fish do that can be a natural beginning to the process of chunking up downrigger hooked fish followers. Good stuff, Buff. That guy might have some rather unusual habits
and might be on the run for panty thievery and all
, but he sure does know fishing.
Meantime, good luck over there in that outstandingly beautiful place that you are so lucky to live in. And if you ever come across John D, please pass on a "Howdy, old chum. Remember those crocs up at Bathurst? Those were some big, old, man eating lizards that considered fishermen and cans of Fosters top tucker!"
