Im new to this website, and i joined mainly to see how guys from across the pond go about doing there business, hoping that what i learnt i could adopt to how i fish back here in hawaii. i noticed pretty quickly that most of u guys are east coast guys and fish in an entirely different way than we do here in the islands. i have a couple of questions, that i would appreciate being answered by box or anyone here knowledgeable.
1. we dont use planers here in hawaii for tuna fishing, and i am interested in giving it a try someday. are mainly dead baits such as ballyhoo used for this type of fishing, or could hawaiian style aritificial lures also be adopted?
2. or any kona style heads used in the east coast for BFT or billfish fishing?
3. browsing through pictures i noticed alot of your tuna are caught by multi colored daisy squid chains. we seldom if ever actualy use those (except maybe during stripey season as a teaser) and i am curious were exactly you would have them run and what action to expect from a good running chain. would you run them simply tagged down, straight off the tip, or off the rigger?

i would be more then happy to exchange info on how our fishery down here works.
