    Q & A - The Best & Worst

Hey everybody it's Tred Barta. Proud to be here! You've got me. Before I start, this is a public forum, and thusly it is my personal policy to do the following: Please join me and proudly read the words, and if you're with your children, let them read out loud.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible With Liberty and Justice for all.

And now everyone, let everyone spend just 30 seconds recognizing those great fishermen that troll blue waters in heaven that have gone before us, for it is in their spirit that makes this sport what it is. There is nothing really more to our sport than sharing our passion. Thank you Lord for letting us recognizing this. Amen.

Ok everybody, let's rock and roll! I'm ready to answer the questions. Let's have a great time. Thank you for having me. Gotta be honest, I feel quite uncomfortable. I've got three executive secretaries standing with me in a typing pool. I don't really understand what is going on. But apparently you can all see what I'm writing. At this moment I would feel more comfortable coming back from the canyon in 30 knots in my face with 8 to 12 footers! Ok, let's do the work.

Welcome aboard and thanks for taking the time to join us tonight. Let's start with a basic Bigeye question. If you could only pull one lure when targeting BE, what would that be??

OK Tred, were you aiming for the greenhead you killed with bow and arrow, or was it a lucky shot. On TV it looked as if you missed the lead landing bird and got one behind it. Fess up!

    Thumbs up

In the 2006 Spring Buyers Guide of BGJ you really did a great expos’e on fishing the NE canyons. Thanks and yes for certain all of the way points now reside in my Northstar

Looking back on you your trips what is your favorite method, time of day for Big Eye?

Next is not a question but a statement.
Please say THANK YOU to Cord and the entire waitstaff at Oaklands Marina.
We were delivering a boat that had a surprise at every corner and needed a slip, shore power and fuel and a good meal. That’s a great place to call home and I love visiitng there

Tred so glad to have you here! Im a big fan of your show and never missed it several Friday nights.

First question..when trolling for tuna do you believe in all the fancy lures and spreader bars or do you rather keep the spread simple and pull small skirts over ballys or even run naked baits?

    Thanks

    Tred,
When you mark suspended bait/ tuna what do you do? I've heard of people stopping and letting their baits drop down, putting out planer rods, spreaderbars and continuously passing over the area but I've had no luck with doing any of these.

BTW I've been following the porpoises just like you said to in one of your articles, it hasn't payed off yet but hopefully it will soon.
