    Gotcha now...

Thought u were talkin' back hook not front one....my bad....gotcha...where cable leading to back hook touches front hook's shank...gotcha....Have u played around with anodes yet?
Thanks Bart for the illustrations/photos.....specific question Bart....is the chafe tube used on cable the same hard-shell fuel line type or are both the aquarium tubing type...seems like I liked the harder shell on the cable and the softer for the mono...any thoughts or prefences...? and especially why?

    Proper lure fishing 101........

    . Hooks of different sizes.

    . Crimps - Brass & Aluminum - different sizes

. Leader material Mono & S.S. Cable - different sizes

. Electrical tape - Shrink Tube - Chafe tubing (Soft flex fuel line)

.Heat shrink gun or other tool - worst case usable tool cig-lighter

    . Instant glue

. Crimping tool (calibrated) buy the best if you're after giants

This should get you started, don't be shy, ask away, some one will surface with a solution for you.

    Aloha Fess,
I like aquarium tubing or fuel line hard both are good.

Fuel line gives slimmer profile - while Aquarium gives more protection, thicker, softer. Make your own call either way you win.

PS i forgot to add scissors or razor knife to that list of tools for making your own hook-sets.

    Wink AND...

maybe a pair of the 70.00 - 90.00 cable cutters....the good uns, not the crappy ones with cutters on both sides or even dykes...u gotta have the good "V" or DBL V cutters man....or as one of Bimini's greats told me some years back....when he had an important idea, thought, or ideal to impart, it was always followed with an..."I tell you...", so get the good overpriced pair...I tell you....well if u wanna.

what is your favorite styles and brands of hooks?
same with the cable/wire.. what is your brand of choice..
and crimps.. do you have a favorite?
and do you prefer to use your hook stops or just lay them up against the back of the lure head!?
