Terry, as you may have known I was a Deputy Sheriif in Florida for 17 years up until 41/2 years ago when a drunk driver rear ended me in my patrol car at 60 mph while I was sitting at a stop light. I sustained 3 herniated discs and a broken c7 spinal process because of it. (plus my damn donut got smashed all over the windshield).
I'm doing all I can to avoid surgery but trying to paint and draw full time in one position really aggravates things. That crash ended my police career as I sometimes loose feeling in my right hand. Please keep us posted on how your dad is doing and if that new gadget works. I'm sick of getting a epideral needle shoved in my back. I love what I'm doing for a living but hate how I got to do it full time. Keepin my fingers crossed for him.![]()
Capt. Terry,
Hope your old man feels better. I know the feeling. I had to get cut and have a disc removed. It worked for me, I may be a little younger at 49 , but it did work.
Good Luck!

I'm with "FlatDog" on this subject. I had back surgery done after 25 year's of living with 4 shot disc's. Exersize helped alot previous to surgery and continue's to do so. It is absolute key. When you build up the stomach muscle's they really help to carry the "wounded" spine. As soon as he is up and about, get with the Doc and get on a "no doubt about it regiment". Your Pop sound's like a stand up guy, hope he does well. Constant pain is a bear to live with, I know. Frank
Prayers from our household man! Hope to see you and your Dad out and about soon!
Neil
Prayers sent Terry.
