Prayer Request
Guys, please keep Devon Johnson and his family in your prayers. Devon was fishing on the Kaelia, sister boat to the one I was on in Kona, HI this winter, on the way for a week trip and fell fell overboard app. 70 miles off of Kona sometime between 12 and 2 in the morning while on wheel watch the night before last. They are still searching, but it looks grim. He and his twin brother were fishing the boat together.

Waimea man reported missing at sea
By Local Sources
Saturday, November 14, 2009 7:15 AM HST
The Coast Guard is searching for a Waimea man who disappeared while fishing 60 miles west of the Big Island.
Devon Johnson, 25, was fishing on the 34-foot Kealia on Friday morning, according to the Coast Guard. His brother, Dennis Johnson, woke up at about 2 a.m. and noticed Devon Johnson was missing. The two were about to switch helm duties.
Rescue crews aboard an HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter and C-130 long-range aircraft from Air Station Barbers Point on Oahu are on scene. The Coast Guard launched the air crews immediately and two 110-foot patrol boats, the Honolulu-based Galveston Island and the Hilo-based Kiska, were under way before sunrise and en route.

Devon Johnson was last seen wearing an olive green sweater and black shorts, but no life jacket. Police described him as white, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
The Coast Guard searched more than 1,600 square miles -- an area more than twice the size of the island of Maui -- and asked HSL Squadron 37 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii for aerial assistance with the search. The HSL Squadron 37 flies SH-60 Seahawks.
As many as five private fishing vessels and a private aircraft were expected to join in the search. The Coast Guard planned to coordinate the efforts of those searchers when the Kiska arrived Friday afternoon.
Weather in the area is reported to be seas of 8 feet and winds from the southeast at 25 mph. Anyone with further information about the missing man is asked to contact the Coast Guard's 24-hour Honolulu Harbor command center at (808) 842-2600 or via VHF marine band radio channel 16.
