Pond report, top water on fire!

Pond down the street was alive with action when I pulled up, slung the Chug Bug out and instant strike, missed then comes tight SHort fight insues then the dreaded stump snag Fish jumps with the CB rattling and the leader dangling behind. Re-rig and throw the topwater spinner and it gets smacked around before coming tight, nice 2-3 lb Lrg. mouth. Snag a few more smaller fish, with one I haven't encountered. It was a large mouth but it's back was nearly black, the others looked like your typical fish green back. Color phase? or another species? Fun fishing and with in walking distance of the house. No pics, wife has the camera in the car from the girly weekend. Now off to do some bank beating for pups and specks and....................
