As a young kid in Biloxi, my dad would take us out to go mullet snagging. Later, a great past time was snagging herring here in Virginia, and you ain't had fun till you rip a weighted treble hook trough a school of suckers swarming in a mountain creek with an ultra light.----
Nope don't know nothing about such irresponsible tactics.
When I was a kid we were down in the Bahamas. Me and my brother were roamin around with the local boys when they asked if we wanted to go snitchin. I thought they were referring to something sinister, but agreed to go along anyways. Well we ended up sitting out on the cliffs of Gregorytown with a hand line and no bait. We would drop the lines down into these big schools of tang, angelfish turbid and rip them up real fast. If you was lucky enough to snitch one you were the king. We did this for hours and had a pile of fish. We brought them back to our house that night and invited all the boys and their families back for a fish fry. It was one of the coolest things I can remember. We were like 12 years old actually brought back dinner for everyone and did it with handlines and no bait!
