snaggin suckers in the streams of upstate NY was a blast when I was a kid, I couldn't wait for the bell to ring so I could go grab the rod with a weighted treble hook. I even turned down hangin at "sure thing Suzies" house after school a FEW times for a little piece to go snag them suckers. Nothing wrong with it, be it a sucker or a slob wahoo that is false hooked.

We call it snatching around here. I have a buddy that can snatch a mountain trout out of a deep hole quicker than you can say "don't do it". Not sure about how legal, or ethical, it is, but those questions don't generally come up with him.
