Planner Rod for New Jersey Canyon Tuna is proven!!

    Marty,
Thanks again for teaching the planner rod set up.
It accounted for 3 of 7 yellowfin tuna on our 1st tuna trip of the year. We will be using more of it all season. The deepest tuna was pulled up from about 120'. The Big Eye was not on the planner rod, but the planner was in the water and it was creeping it's way down at about 40'-60' when we got slammed on the top water rigs.

    WAIT WAIT WAIT.

I read online that a planer rod won't work for tuna and it scares them away.

    This has gotta be fake.

    Just kidding course.

Pretty work and congrats on one heck of a pile of sushi.

Isn't it sweet when that rod jumps and it's game on?

    Congrats.

Nice catch on the eyeball. I can't wait until I prove up here that a planer can catch a BFT. One day, if I ever get out on the water, I will prove it.
