    Johnny,

Should have mentioned something I've learned about rods, the plastic/graphite or whatever they are reel seats absolutley will not hold up to the pressure. They will be spinning on the blank by the end of the first weekdend. I am a big fan of the #3 inline though. Easy for people to handle and still works as a pretty good meat rod.

Can't tell you exact rods since I'm away from the beach, but I've got one here I had in the truck I been cussing and debating on sending back again. Ued it an honest one day. We put a #3 on it starting out, yet to catch a fish on it. Pulled it about 30 minutes before the reel seat failed. Its a Tsunami TSTSU 5950R 5'9" 50-80LB. Total piece of crap in my opinion. Won't buy another, I don't care if there $5 a piece.

To give you some background on this rod. This one is actually a warranty replacement. Had some family down on a rough day and put them on an amberjack. Brand new on that fish (never ever used), reel seat failed. Sent it back and got a replacement, been sitting at the house since, thought I would try it last time out, failed again...

Granted this is not a top of the line rod, but from what I can tell they are not giving them away. This particular rod has yet to see a fish... The action of the rod is about right for pullin a #3 though.

One of my project list for this fall is to have a local custom builder come down and dicuss my spread. Don't mind paying a resonable fee, but failed gear is a PIA.

its amazing to see how the bigger name company send their rods out. we have fixed alot spinning reelseats on "bigname" rods. and what we find when pulling apart is typical of trying to "make cheaper" .like cardboard under the reelseat.for arbors.. and this was on 2-300$ rods..
