Hey Box-- Is 200 lb Power Pro enough to drag a #32 planer, or should I go heavier ?? With a 100 feet of 200 lb power pro approximately how deep will the #32 run?? Thanks --Rich

Conventional reel mounted on the gunnnel.
I believe a #32 runs 2:1. With 150 lb braid off my planer rod I get 50 foot depth with 100 feet out. I just converted the planer rod to bluefin mode today. New marks at 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 feet. Divide those by 2 and you have your depths ready to go and highly visible when letting it out. Then I put a piece of white electrical tape on the reel with the depths and corresponding marks written down.
Good luck this season to ya!
BT- Thanks, that was what I was looking for. How about the smaller planers, any idea how deep they run? Thank again.--Rich
Not sure about anything under a #16. I know its runs 2:1. The 24 and 32 should run just about the same.
the more you put out, the more scope you will have(more drag on the line). I would think that even with 150 feet of line out, your not gonna get down more than about 60-65 feet.
